The artistic side of Nerak came to fruition through drawing and painting as a young girl growing up in Montreal.Throughout the years, this self-taught artist quickly developed a true passion for applying brush to canvas, using oil paints as her conduit for creative expression. Within this medium she continues to capture the spirit and essence of the person in each of her paintings.

Renowned for her ability to portray her subjects in a striking manner through the mystery of their eyes, Nerak communicates with every brush stroke, as each portrait has a story all its own.

Her genuine talent for portraiture painting has been sought after on either sides of the border. She has regularly been commissioned to paint in both United States and Canada for those who have seen and cherished her work.

With previous creative careers in both advertising and fashion, Nerak followed her heart and opened her own art studio in 1997. It was here that she was able to teach and share her love for painting with her students for 10 years. In this space she has helped connect people with a side of themselves they didn’t know they had and has been a guide for many through their own creative processes. By reaching out to people in her life, she has been able to open creative doors for many who may have been reluctant to do so by themselves. This is one of her greatest joys.

Happily married with two amazing children, Nerak also realizes the importance of giving back. Holding charity exhibitions and auctions, while at the same time donating her paintings to causes that are dear to her heart.

The artistic world of Nerak is one of a creative spirit, with a passion for life and all its experiences. These experiences transcend to the artistic and spiritual, leaving her inspired to create and to live her days without regret, while enriching her life and those around her in every way.

The up coming year marks a new chapter and spiritual path in the artist’s life. With a complete devotion to figurative and portraiture painting on “The People of Anguilla.” This will be followed by her own exhibition to be shown in Anguilla, B.W.I. beginning June 2007.
